Hereby please find the announcement to two PhD research grants.

The Foundation for European Forest Research is offering two PhD scholarships up to 19 000 euros per annum with a travel allowance of 1 000 euros a year. The opportunities are open to all interested persons qualified to proceed with PhD studies at an internationally recognized university. The grants are ‘Metsähallitus-Grant 2010 for PhD studies’ on the topic of “Sustainable use of forests for different purposes, including economical and recreational forest functions and biodiversity values”, and ‘Ponsse- Grant 2010 for PhD studies’ on the topic of “Contribution of modern forest management technologies to sustainable and competitive forestry in Europe”.

Becas Fundacion carolina

La Fundación Carolina continúa en su empeño por potenciar la presencia de becarios en España, procedentes de países prioritarios para la cooperación española como Bolivia, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Paraguay, Perú y República Dominicana, por lo que para las gestiones 2010-2011 ha dispuesto 1.645 becas.

El Programa de Becas, que este año cumple 10 años, para esta versión ha abierto la convocatoria para 1.092 becas de postgrado, 248 de doctorado y estancias cortas, 252 de formación permanente y movilidad de profesorado brasileño y 53 institucionales, según comunicado de la institución.

La Fundación Carolina es una institución para la promoción de las relaciones culturales y la cooperación educativa y científica entre España y los países de la Comunidad Iberoamericana de Naciones.

Los interesados pueden encontrar toda la información en la webwww.fundacioncarolina.es, donde podrán hacer las solicitudes online. La convocatoria para las becas de postgrado estará abierta hasta el 1 de marzo de 2010; la de doctorado y estancias cortas hasta el 19 de abril, y la de formación permanente hasta el 4 de septiembre.
